Sarah J Maas expanding length of ToG and ACoTAR series

July 23, 2016 by Betty

I don’t know if you guys have heard the news, but if you have not then let me enlighten you. If you know me at all then you are aware that I LOVE Young Adult fiction in general and Sarah J Maas is particular. Well, Entertainment Weekly recently published on their website great news in relation to Sarah and her Throne of Glass and A Court of Thorns and Roses series.

Here is the link to the original Entertainment Weekly Article

To keep this short, the article, in essence, stated that Sarah will be publishing more books for both her Throne of Glass series and A Court of Thorns and Roses. The Throne of Glass series will have two new additions, a novella about Chaol Westfall and a compendium titled, The World of Throne of Glass. The compendium will be a guide about the series, the world of Erilea, characters, settings, magic, gods, creatures, vocabulary and a nifty timeline of events.

As for A Court of Thorns and Roses, there will be SIX new additions! The first addition will be a coloring book which comes out in 2017. The other five will be part of the series, turning it from the originally planned trilogy to a seven book series. I’m a little overwhelmed to think what is going to happen in the planned FIVE additional books! I mean, the second was super intense and lots has been prepared to occur in the third, but enough to go on for five more books? There are many twists and surprises awaiting us, that’s for sure.

What do you guys think? Are you excited and psyched for these new books?!?! Let me know what you think.

  1. I wouldn’t say that I’m ”excited” b/c Maas was never one of my favorite authors, but if those books turn out to be good, then that’s great! The world could always use some more great books lol. The announcement I’m most excited about, however, is Cassandra Clare’s Magnus Bane trilogy for adults!!!

We are opposites in that sense then. 😋 I have never read a book by Cassandra Clare and I probably never will, simply because they don’t catch my interest. However that’s the beauty of there being so many different authors and genres!

In Sarah’s newsletter she said that the extra books will not be about Feyre, they will be set in the same word and she can’t say who it will be about without spoiling the next book. I’m excited to get more books set in the amazing world she created!
