I received my first approval on Netgalley!

Hello everyone!

I just wanted to share with you guys my achievement. A few days ago, I created an account on Netgalley and decided to take the plunge and request a book. I researched some ahead of time and learned that to have more of a likelihood of being accepted to review a book, it helps to have a blog where you review books and have around 1,000 followers. I barely started this blog about two days ago and feared that I would have to wait a few months before getting even 100 or so followers.

Obviously, I did not want to wait. Last year I signed up for a one year membership with Barnes and Noble since that is the closest bookstore for me. Since then, I have kind of, sort of gone a little crazy book buying online and in-store every time I have a chance to go to B&N. (It’s about a 60 mile/ 1 hour drive each way.) I was constantly receiving emails and mail with coupons which I felt morally obligated to use. I was basically this.

Tony I need it

Thus my dwindling bank funds…

Anyway, long story short, I requested four books and have been accepted for three so far. Although they are in ebook format and I was hoping for a physical copy (I find it hard to read ebooks). For now I will continue trying for ARC’s.

Also, on a side note, I will posting at least once a week. For sure every Monday at least. I’ll need to think up a name for my weekly post. Suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks for reading!

Awesome! What books did you get approved for? Netgalley only does books, but if you want physical books you should check out bloggingforbooks.com. Congrats and much success!

Thanks for the sugestion! I was almost sure I would be rejected but, lo and behold, I was not! The books I was accepted for are 1) Faith and Moonlight by Mark Gelineau and Joe King, 2) The Thinks We Keep by Sally Hepworth, and 3) In Place of Never by Julie Anne Lindsey. Still have one pending so I’ll keep my fingers crossed.

Was just going to say that Netgalley only provides ebooks but I see comfyreading has told you this. Careful not to get carried away and request too many – you might get approved for more than you think!
